Children

My main focus for this project is going to be on the  younger ones. Their life and aspirations are the reason their parents want to leave the refugee camps to come to the United States.  Parents know their own lives will be challenging, but they have the hope for their children to have a better future.  Many of these children were actually born in a refugee camp or have spent most of their lives in one.  Now they are going to be the new Americans.

Personal Project

I just started working in a personal project exploring the notion of "Home" and the search for a place to call home.  The people that I photograph were forced to leave their homes for many different reasons. They are from Burma, Bhutan or Somalia and have spent many years in refugee camps in Thailand, Nepal or Kenya.  I photograph them once they settle in Minnesota.
